Disney Dragtastic Dude Day a.k.a. Wendell D’s Big Day Out
Long time no see everyone! Sorry my blog posts have been so infrequent lately. Between work, my social life, and editing/filming Hipster Mermaid, I’ve had zero free time. So let’s start thing off right shall we?
Just a couple of dudes. Picture from Traci.
About a month ago, my good friend Traci was trying to plan her next birthday, when suddenly, she came up with the most brilliant idea ever. See, Traci is what I call a professional mermaid. She dresses up as various Disney characters (mainly the Little Mermaid) for various performances and parties (she has about a million jobs; this is just one of many). She is also a model/gorgeous individual, so she is constantly striving to look her best for these various tasks. As this can sometimes be a pain, Traci decided to something completely different. Instead of dressing up like a pretty princess, Traci invented what she deemed “Disney Dude Day”.
Let me explain what Disney Dude Day is exactly. The idea was simple yet genius; we would all dress like modern day versions of either boy Disney characters or turn Disney girl characters into boys. Get it? Instead of trying to be a pretty princess, we would all be gruff, butch Disney men. I don’t understand girls who need to look pretty all the time; sometimes it’s fun to make yourself look as non-feminine as possible. Also, Traci loves crossplay (a girl dressing as a boy character) which she rarely gets to do. With the theme set, Traci just had to pick the day and invite the guest.
